Who may train at Shadow Firearms & Tactical Academy?
Anyone. ShadowFTA is a virtual reality training academy designed to customize our training curriculum to fit your specific training objectives.
Should I bring my firearm?
No! Do not bring your firearm to the classroom session unless you are advised by one of the range safety officers. But if you do, we have gun lockers and safe handling areas available to secure your firearm.
What if I am not satisfied with my training experience?
If for any reason we did not meet or exceed your expectations, we will work together to come to mutually beneficial remedies. If you're not satisfied - we're not satisfied.
Do I have to have a pistol permit and/or pistol in order to take training?
No! We supply everything needed. Our pistols are real firearms retro fitted with a laser that interacts with our state-of the-art-simulators. The pistol magazine is loaded with CO2. This causes the pistol to recoil and recycle like real pistols.
Can I use your training course certificate to get my NYS Conceal Carry Pistol Permit?
Yes. Shadow FTA is certified to give the NYS 18 hours Mandated Conceal Carry Training Course. But remember, you receiving a pistol permit will depend on your application and background check. The training certificate only satisfies the training requirement needed once you are approved.
